Compliance Issue 4 – Section 3.02 Subdivision 4, the election schedule won’t work as described above. The Spring issue is published approximately April 31st, so this paragraph requires us to mail the ballots and complete the election BEFORE we publish the nominees’ names. Additionally, we have not been in compliance with the requirement to publish the nominee’s name even when the current RP intends to keep the position.
My suggestion is that we should put the upcoming officier positions (for example: Region 2 for next summer) in the winter communicator. Tell everyone that nominations will be accepted up to two weeks before the Spring Communicator. In the Spring Communicator, all the nominees could write a little article about themselves letting the voting members know a little bit about them. Then say a month after the Spring Communicator send out the mail ballots or email ballots for people to vote. The ballots would be due back a week or two before the Summer Meeting. Then, the results could be announced at the Summer Meeting with the new officers being introduced to all the Summer Meeting members.
