College Grad looking to get into a nuke plant
Hi,
I'm looking to get into the nuclear field, I have a 2 year physics degree and a 4 year bachelors degree in business. I've been trying to find any company in the U.S. looking to hire NLO's. I was wondering if you anyone can point me in a good direction. I've surfed the job postings at a few companies over the past 2 months to no avail. I'm confident if I can get my foot in the door my POSS score and background may work well for me getting a shot at a position.
Thanks in advance.
Justin
Justin,
Our plant is currently looking for new NLO's. (Millstone 2&3 in CT).
They are filling the 'pipline' in hopes of building a new BWR in North Anna VA.
Go to Dom.com and search human resources and send in your resume.

Justin, Diablo Canyon is hiring NLO's. We just sent a group for POSS testing. If you are interested in CA residence, go to PG&E web site www.pge.comMike Jacobson, Region IV President
Mike,
I went out to www.pge.com and couldn't find the NLO posting. Is it down or am I just missing it?
Justin, I just went to the www.pge.com web page and the job was still posted. Select "careers" from the opening home page, then select "skilled" jobs and follow the links. When you finally get to the list of jobs, select "Nuclear Operator" for information.Mike Jacobson, Region IV President
Hi Mike,
I've looked on the site and followed your directions each day for the past 4 days all I see currently available is the
| Electric Technician | ![]() |
186 | Tiger Creek area | Tiger Creek | Now Hiring |
Perhaps it's because I haven't pre-tested with them? I also searched by the zip code for Diablo Canyon in the initial job search for skilled jobs and that still only brought up that result. Let me know if there is another way for me to get them my information.
Thanks for all your help and information to this point as well. I'm still searching out opportunities I have a lead into HR at one plant (Cooper) hiring NLOs and have recently sent them my resume. I'm open to any location nationwide.
Again thank you all very much for all your help with this I really do appreciate it.
*Edit*
I've attached my current resume to the post as well. Recently I've considered going through the Navy Nuke track and scored a 96/99 on ASVAB highest scores being in math, advanced science and electronics. Only reason I mention this I've been told the POSS is very similar to the ASVAB.
A quick note about my resume the last two positions I've held the companies are owned by the same individual. He hired me on for individual projects, both were completed on time and under budget. He is one of my references.
Any feedback or critique of my resume is welcomed.
