Has your utility implemented Golden Handcuffs or similar incentive enhancements in the last 2 years for NLOs/ROs/SROs. If so, what has been implemented?

Golden Handcuffs
TVA Sequoyah has given a $60,000 dollars over three years to SROs. With $10,000 the up front in the first year, $15,000 in the middle of year two, and then $35,000 at the end of the third year. If you leave before the end of year three you have to pay back whatever you have received from TVA. No "Golden Handcuffs" have been offered to UO's or AUO's as Mr. Lowery has already mentioned.

No Golden Handcuffs at Callaway
Callaway has no Golden Handcuffs and it does not appear there will be a need for them anytime soon. We actually have good staffing levels for the upcoming Fatigue Management work hour restrictions.

Golden Hand Cuffs and Pay
Why do some utilities use them. Ask yourself? I have come to the opinion that two areas get involved in a job. They are where you live and what is work environment like. If the job is a nightmare where you are shorthanded, overloaded, plagued with management teams that will not listen to modern ideas ( I hate the phrase " We have always done it this way) and just expect you to tote the note BUT you go home to a low cost home, good schools, nice weather, crime free easy to reach enjoyable areas then you can maybe live with it. If you live in a high cost, crime ridden hell hole where you have to send the kids to private school but you can survive and you go to work everyday and the job is a breeze. All your coworkers are friends. Your management team listens and changes to accomdate what is going on. They bend over backwards to encorporate change and help you then you can live with that. BUT if you are absolutely overwhelmed with both ends of the stick beating you then sometimes the utility thinks they can buy you. That is the golden handcuffs. WARNING, even with the money you find that even some good people give up. I know. I have been there. My glimpse of hell was Homestead FL. Be careful what you wish for. You just might get it.
