How does your facitily handle placekeeping for signature block sign-offs? Currently, at SQN we are supposed to use circle-slash method of placekeeping for those instances. I think that a signature block is more accountable than circle-slash, but that is just my opinion. I believe a circle-slash is good for E procedures and AOPs (Abnormal Operating Procedures) but not for signature blocks. If you could send me some information from your facitliy it would be very helpful.

We only use the circle/slash method for steps that don't have a checkbox or signoff next to them.  Our EOP/AOP procedures are dual column, so circle/slash does not work very well.  Most folks just draw arrows to designate flowpath.

At Point Beach we only require circle-slashing on steps that do not have sign offs.  We use the circle-slash in both the AOP's and EOP's.  Our AOP's and EOP's are dual column procedures with no sign offs.

If a signature or initials
If a signature or initials line exist next to the step circle slash is not required.  If there is no signature, initial block or line you must circle slash.
