Many utilities accept high failure rates of Authorization Candidates as a part of doing business.. sadly they lose many compentent candidates as a result of their screening process and, continue to train those candidates who have no disposition to perform in role during accident conditions both during the practical training and the subsequent plant operation even though the candidates were successful on the written examinations.

I figured that out years ago and would like to share my experience as a licenced operator and successful simulator trainer of 27 years.

A standard approach to normal and transient operation is a process and a learned skill.  If your plant is not developing this methodology and training in this manner,, you will never know what your operators will do in the middle of the night when upset conditions arise, and will always be guessing how they will do on any particular day during examination conditions.

100% pass record of those Candidates trained in this method of standard approach, taking the simulator regulatory examinations for the past 14 years in both Canada and Romania.

Would be my pleasure to share this insight!
